Margaret grew up woodworking in a family of hobbyist boat builders. Her love of music started at the tender age of six with her first violin lesson. She continued her musical career through her undergrad at St. Olaf College taking a slight detour into Norwegian folk music and history when she picked up the Hardanger Fiddle.
After she earned her bachelor’s degree she attended Minnesota State College Southeast (MSCS) were she trained as a string instrument repair technician (luthier). Since graduating from MSCS she has repaired violins, hardanger fiddles and bows in the greater twin cities area.
Margaret is a member of the Hardanger Fiddles Association of America (HFAA) and the Violin Society of America (VSA)
